Fledgling-shaped pendant with suspension loop.
Bronze. Height 4,3 cm.
Early 1st millenium B.C. Luristan (Iran).
Intact. Black and red patina.

Luristan knew with his semi-nomadic population a long tradition of the bronze. These pendants, found in large number in graves, represent a rich bestiary in the pure and realistic forms. They were provided with a characteristic suspension loop in Luristan and used as jewels, amulets, lucky charm. This fledgling with globular eyes, wears a triple nervure in the neck and in the tail.
