Carnutes (Celtic Gaul, Chartres area).
AE bronze, circa 50-30 B.C.
Human head right in form of crescent moon, hair gathered in four erected and twisted strands. Behind the head, two crescents. In front of the mouth, a ring.
Wolf standing left, mouth open and tongue hanging. Above, beaded line surmounted by a pattern composed of a globule and two crescents. Between legs, star. Below, two juxtaposed crescents ending with a star.
