Carnutes (Celtic Gaul, Chartres area).
AE bronze, circa 50-30 B.C.
CATAL Female head right with very elaborate hairstyle.
Facing eagle with spread wings, looking left, standing on a stylized thunderbolt. To the right, an amphora surmounted by a centered ring. Top left, S-shaped motive and scepter with fleudelized end.
2,85 g. LT 6329 ; Scheers, Danicourt 180 ; Scheers, Lyon 793 ; DT 2589. Very rare. Nice dark brown patina. Extremely fine

According to Simone Scheers, the reverse would be inspired by the denarius of Q. Cassius Longinus (Crawford 428.3) struck circa 57/55 B.C.
