Bronze. Height 3 cm.
6th century A.D. Merovingian Europe.
Intact (except for one catch). Beautiful brown patina.

The graceful eagles face to the right. Small heads with long, curved beaks. Slender bodies. The claws, wings and tails are only schematically rendered by semicircular or trapezoid shapes. Eyes and feathers rendered by ring punches. Both hinges and one catch preserved on smooth reverse.
