Faience. Height 5,3 cm.
The dedication reads: " Eternal Life (for) the Son of Re, Master of the Appearances, Ptolemy, beloved by Sokar Osiris ".

Ptolemy Soter is the son of Arsinoe and Lagos who gave his name to the dynasty of Lagides.
At the death of Alexander the Great, he is Satrap of Egypt (323) and takes the royal title in 305/4. He is thus the first Hellenistic king in Egypt. His 2nd wife, Berenice I, gives him two children : Arsinoe II in 308 and Ptolemy II in 285/4.
He dies in 283/2. Constructions or restorations are attributed to him at Naukratis, Terenuthis, Hermopolis, Koptos. And the cult of Sarapis was exalted under his reign (according to Manethon).
